no one’s holding a gun to your head
no one's holding a gun to your head brings together a collection of multimedia paintings created over the past two years. This exhibition focuses on disarming feelings of being overwhelmed and overthinking before they build up to a debilitating point. Manahan uses bright colours, expressive gestures, abstract drawing, and scale to defang these feelings. He focuses on bringing the paintings into a dreamlike space where anxieties lose their usual authority. Viewers are invited to encounter the paintings playfully, and piece them together in their own way.
